"Last Stand goes behind the scenes into Turner’s private life, exploring the man’s accomplishments and his motivations, showing the world a fascinating and flawed, fully three-dimensional character... Through Turner’s eyes, the reader is asked to consider another way of thinking about the environment, our obligations to help others in need, and the grave challenges threatening the survival of civilization."--Amazon.

The story of a troubled, quixotic man who, through a damaged childhood that would have ruined most people, never quite manages to emotionally trust enough to have full relationships but who has a powerful love of the planet he lives on and is absolutely committed to helping it survive. Even the women who divorced him seem to still love and respect him. I discovered a person who interested me on multiple levels and I came to feel great admiration for him. He has put his money where his mouth is and how many of the 1% can truly say that? Not perfect but admirable none-the-less. Well worth the read.
