This work is a powerful account of war and homecoming. The author served three tours of duty in the Middle East, two of them as the commander of an Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit in Iraq. Days and nights he and his team, his brothers, would venture forth in heavily armed convoys from their Forward Operating Base to engage in the nerve-racking yet strangely exhilarating work of either disarming the deadly improvised explosive devices that had been discovered, or picking up the pieces when the alert came too late. "In this riveting memoir, combat veteran Brian Castner describes what it's like to be "Crazy" - his term for the symptoms of blast-induced Traumatic Brain Injury. With clear, vivid, evocative language, he interweaves compelling accounts of his day-to-day experiences as a bomb disposal specialist in Iraq and Afghanistan with his suburban life back home with his family, alternating tension and release in a way that keeps you turning the pages. Castner seeks diagnosis and treatment for the "Crazy," but finds no miraculous cure." May 2013 Biography and Memoir newsletter

Worth reading. I found it sad, honest and a disturbing account of his life after war. An important story to tell.
