It's a cute story until you think about what's happened. The boy needs the lamb's wool to make socks, a coat, a hat, mittens, etc. to keep himself warm in the big bad icy winter. The lamb gives him all of its wool, and the boy makes extra clothes so that the lamb can be warm too. So, in the end the lamb wears clothes made out of its own wool to keep warm and survive the winter. This doesn't strike me as a heartwarming story, even though the illustrations are very sweet and endearing.
