I found this book to be weaker than others by Mosley. The motivation of the main actors seems weak to me, and over-all the book is less engaging that what I expected. On the other hand, Mosley remains a good writer and this book is still better than a lot of others out there. So, my conclusion: read it if you are a fan of Walter Mosley, but if you haven't read any of his books so far, try out the ones set in LA first.

Once again, Leonid McGill offers us a deeply passaged look into his personal world of NYC, his family travails and the ins and outs of those needing help from their troubles and themselves. I love this guy and I love how Mr. Mosley shares him with us.

Not his best but good as always from Mosley

Page turner in Mosley's usual New York City urban black prose with his usual mix of family crisis when he tried to do amend to one of his past victim.
