Really original, fun, and well told story! Joyce is becoming one of my favourite authors! I think this series would appeal to fans of P.B. Kerr's Children of the Lamp series, however, it is for a younger reading audience. I can't wait to read the rest of this series!

even though I am a teenager, I fell in love with the movie. I really want to read the background story.

This book was entertaining, and would be an excellent read for children just starting more advanced chapter books. It had a variety of interesting characters, and the illustrations were charming. Overall, it made me smile.

Imaginative and fun, this is a great book to read with kids, especially if they enjoyed the Rise of the Guardians movie. I read this with my little sister and I loved it as much as she did (and I'm 19.)

Nothing bad, unless your family doesn't do magic. Otherwise, fantastic book.
