Harry Hole makes for a compelling troubled detective, and in the Snowman he’s certainly got his hands full what with dealing with his own demons and hunting down an elusive and violent serial killer- Norway’s first. Set in chilly Oslo, both characters and place are brought to life with Nesbo’s detailed and atmospheric writing, and the murder mystery detective plot has more than enough twists and turns.
A great mystery thriller with some twists and turns that pay off.
This is the first Jo Nesbo book I've read and I definitely want to read another. This chilling page turner will keep you wanting to read until the end!
number 7
One of the best. Not one boring line.
This is book 7 of the Harry Hole (pronounced as Hoe-lay) series by Jo Nesbo.
Fast-paced book and a very good read.
Movie adaptation was made but movie was a poor adaptation .
Having read most of Jo Nesbo's books, I was glad to catch up with this one.The twists, the turns and all the gruesome details were there as Harry Hole unravels the case with links to the past.
I've never read any Jo Nesbo novels until I picked this one up. I enjoyed the book, however, there were lots of characters that made it a little difficult to follow, but otherwise it was an enjoyable suspense/thriller novel. I don't know if the translation was perfectly on par (it never really is), but again, it was fun following along attempting to crack the case of who is "The Snowman" (?).
My first Jo Nesbo novel, but not my last. If you like murder mysteries, give this one a try.
