The premise of this book drew me to it: "One moment, eleven lives, endless consequences." The fact that it's written by one of Britain's most successful stand-up comedians is also intriguing. He's a fine writer - his characters, especially the main character, Xavier, are endearing and likable. The sequence of events set off by his decision to intervene or not when he witnesses violence is compelling and believable. The love story is also a joy to read.
