Probably the best ( so far ) in the Sean King/Michelle Maxwell series. A unique story with political intrigue, twists and turns and a couple of surprises at the end. The narrator, who has done a lot of Baldacci's books, does a great job.

Not one of Baldacci's better books. It took me forever to get into it till the character Kelly Paul came in play...And that's in Chapter 25! Before meeting the interesting characters of Kelly Paul, Edgar Roy, or James Harkes, there's nothing to hold you glue to the book. The two main characters Michelle & sean seem just as lost as the reader is of what the heck is going on.
However, I will say this. From Chapter 82-till the end is probably one of the best endings to any of his books I've ever read! He not only throws one, but two surprises you never saw coming...okay maybe you'll figure out one surprise. The ending scares you as a reader of what the author will decide to do with his characters, but I'm glad the way he ended it.

Lots of suspense. I found myself finishing the book even though I'm beginning to like suspense less than I used to, because of the positive reviews it received. However, the suspense seems to have edged out some of the character development and nuance that is what I really enjoy. The ending is positive, almost sweet.

Another well written thriller by this master novelist. My only complaint is that its too heavy on the violence. 8 of 10 stars
