Nalini Singh always writes an emotional story and Kiss of Snow is no exception, especially when it comes to Hawke and Sienna's romance. There was a lot of push and pull from Hawke and his possessive behavior is by far the strongest of any changeling Singh has written so far. Because of this, he tweaked my nerves every once in awhile, especially in the beginning before he gives into a relationship, but you can't doubt his devotion to the people he cares about.
I Absolutely love this book!!!!!
I wish it NEVER ended.
When I first got this book I was excited I couldn't wait to read about Sienna and Hawke story. Not to mention read more about both packs ( Snow dancers, & Dark River)
This book is not a disappointment. I've read this book multiple times and found myself never tired of it.
Sienna goes through so much hardship and you cannot help but hope that she and Hawke could over their hardships to be with one another.
Not to mention I really love the fact that Nalini Singh adds a little child play in her book. But this one you see a lot more, then what you would see in her other books, with the wolf children. I love Ben, he is a sweet heart, ready to steal your heart. I also love Eve, I wish that Nalini Singh makes a side story or a short story about her. After all she's Sienna best friend, and they used to pull the craziest pranks when they we're younger.
Excellent! Sienna will keep Hawke on his toes.
Book 10 of the Psy-Changeling series, preceded by Play of Passion and followed by Tangle of Need. Sexy story of Hawke, the alpha of SnowDancer wolves and Sienna, a dangerous/volatile X-psy. I waited for this story between Sienna and Hawke but it left me a little disappointed, as I thought it would be a bit hotter. It was still good and I enjoyed the intermingled story of Walker and Lara.
The Darkriver series is one of the best series out there.
If you are a fan of Nalini Singh's Psy-Changeling series already then you will love this book. If you have not read any of the psy-changeling books before I'm not sure I would recommend you starting with this one. Not because Singh doesn't ground and explain her world well (she does), but mainly because the characters in this novel are ones we have seen and followed over the course of many books so far, and finally getting to see their side of the story is what makes this novel so wonderful. I would recommend starting with Slave to Sensation, the first book in this series. This is a great read. Not only are we dealing with two characters that readers have come to love over previous novels, but they are both equally compelling and complex characters in their own right. Their relationship feels real and true to the characters. Their journey towards each other feels real, tangible and authentic. The side stories of Walker Lauren and the healer Lara, as well as the continuing relationships of Indigo and Drew, Judd and Brenna, Mercy and Riley and, of course, Lucas and Sascha are an added bonus and a snapshot into the fabulous world that Singh has created with these novels. The slices we see of Sienna interacting with her brother Toby and the other children in the den are sweet and touching. They underscore the true horror of Silence and also how far all of the Lauren's have come. Kiss of Snow will grab you from the start and not let go, the emotional arc of our two protagonists, the stories that surround them, the intrigue, action and politics, all are stellar and combine to create a wonderful novel. Singh has created a unique and magical world, one that exists not so far off from ours, but with a vibrancy and distinctness that is rare among urban fantasy and romance novels.
Nalini Singh's Darkriver series is incredible. it makes me laugh, and breaks my heart what a wonderfully talented author. I would recommend this series to anyone who loves a good romance.
Living up to the hype, Kiss of Snow (best of series) is not just beautiful PNR but also a great full-bodied novel. Sienna's X ability was really fun coupled with those of Hawke. The scene at the end where their bond snaps into place is fantastic! Right now I really wish for a book that could spend some time with Hawke and Sienna as a happy couple. Not gonna happen in a PNR series...I'll be lucky if I get snippets here and there darnnit!
Every book adds power (whether it's power, alliances, renegade Psy skills, etc.) to SnowDancer & DarkRiver to the point where we see them as an equally powerful force as the Psy. With the exception of Kaleb however! It seems...he can do whatever he wants and you can't stop him. Untouchable.
I simply loved how things resolved at the end...the "effect" discussed during the last meeting was funny. I need me some of that!!! The catalyst enabling the mating bond was perfect and fit well within the plot. Not once was I ever bored...this is one of those books you just want to gobble up. At this point in the series there's so many characters we love (Hawke is at the top of my list) that I enjoyed every scene with Judd & Brenna, Indigo, Sasha & Lucas(beautiful birthing scene), etc.
Interesting how every Psy H or h in this series has a skill that evolves in some way. Sienna's & Walker's are a nice addition to the series plot.
The inclusion of the Walker/Lara side story fit very well within this book since the two became such an integral part of the action with the main plot.
This is another amazing read of hers. I am so glad I discovered her writing.
As the review on the cover states, I would also certainly be interested in living for a short time in the world she writes about.
Finally we got Kiss of Snow. Had been waiting for it for a while and was not dissapointed. Good reads all of Nalini's books.
