This is a phenomenal book for anyone interested in this subject matter. Raw, real, sad, strong and amazing. I love the points Rachel drives home about the ages of these girls, and how changing the language surrounding commercially sexually exploited children is important. I agree with pretty much everything she covers and it is scary how the adults in these situations (from the pimps all the way to the cops and some counselors) are SO ill equipped to deal with what these girls really need. Honestly, I think everyone should have to read this book.
Excellent and well written. A incredible look at the world of child sexual exploitation through the eyes of experience. Rachel herself is a survivor and has gone on to found an organization dedicated to the ending of sexual trafficking. Enlightening and a great read.
Excellent, excellent book. It is educational, challenging, even academic while remaining emotionally engaging.
Rachel's narrative writing style is genius - she weaves her own personal story with stories of the girls she works with, a thorough dissection of the system that preys on vulnerable girls, challenges to the reader's perceptions, and calls to action. It keeps you hooked as you learn the nuances of a devestating injustice in our legal system.
Read this book.
This book was awesome!! Very honest and captured the facts and the unexplored psychological aspects and manipulation used in prostitution. Did a great job of exposing commonly held views by general society as stupid :)
