A very bad movie, not worth the time to watch. We turned it off after 30 minuets because we hate subtitles and found it slow, boring in addition to being confusing. I can understand why it did not get good reviews when it first came out. I have enjoyed a few of Clint's movies but this one was a real dud and he should be ashamed of it. When Eastwood produced this movie I think he was trying to be too cute and thought he was achieving something really special and he would get a lot of recognition for what he thought was a master piece. Wrong Clint, mark this as an under achieving effort.

I expected a lot from Clint Eastwood and Matt Damon. That's why I tried this. What a slow, tedious, sappy movie. I even watched the whole movie! Expecting some redeeming value to giving my time. Matt, I forgive you, you must have just wanted to work with Eastwood.
Clint, shame on you for thinking your great music could salvage this disaster.

Not a Matt Damon fan: he is basically a stupid overpaid actor with an IQ about the level of the average cop--maybe 90. But Clint Eastwood directed this so it is interesting; Clint is a true genius.

There was a part of this movie where I was wondering if it was worth the time. Once all the stories came together it became a wonderful story. Be sure to watch the extras, they are worth the time. Good movie!

of Clint Eastwood's movies this is probably his most tender amd thoughtful, the subject, still controversial, though utterly irrevocable, is respectful and accurate, coming from someone who's been there, performances are splendid, often heartbreaking

I really enjoyed this movie. I was surprised it didn't get more favourable reviews when it first came out. Thought provoking subject, well acted, directed and sticks with you.

Dr. Rousseau: You know, as a scientist and atheist my mind was closed to such things. Oh, absolutely. Afterlife, near-death experiences Like everyone else, I thought people saw bright lights, Eden-like gardens and so forth because they were culturally conditioned to do so. But after 25 years in a hospice working with people, many of whom were pronounced dead but then miraculously survived. the account of what they actually experienced were so strikingly similar it couldn't just be coincidence. And add to that the fact that when they had these experiences they were almost all unconscious, a state in which my enemies agree the brain cannot create fresh images.

Marie Lelay: So you think I really did experience something?

Dr. Rousseau: Oh, yes.I think you experienced death.
