Sharpe's Mission is another of the TV adaptions of episodes based on the Sharpe series of books. Set during the Peninsular Wars that eventually helped to bring about the downfall of Napoleon, the action is a little more easy going than what we've recently become used to. None the less, the flavour of the times is well caught. Wellington, a repeating character is approachable aloof; Harper, Sharpe's first man is faithfully loyal, Sharpe's wife is ever so slightly foolish and of course Sharpe is appropriately swashbuckling as the hero of the episode.
You know what? I think I'm getting hooked on this series.
PS Its been months now since I first viewed this episode. It's even better the second time around. Well worth a second look as well as a first go round.
