Having not spoken to each other in a year, three American brothers set off on a train voyage across India with a plan to find themselves and bond with each other. The brothers wanted to regain their friendship of each other. Their "spiritual quest," however, veers rapidly off-course -- thanks in part to over-the-counter pain killers, Indian cough syrup, and pepper spray. Eventually the three find themselves stranded alone in the middle of the desert with eleven suitcases, a printer, and a laminating machine. From this point forward, an unplanned journey begins.

EXCELLENT CAST, BUT THE FILM WAS DISAPPOINTING TO ME. TWO PAWS UP FROM ABBY TABBY AND KRISTI

It could be a matter of taste on perception, feeling and sense of humor. Wish more audience have the sensibility to resonate with the dream-like sequence visualized in this film.
Additional noteworthy, location (!!), the most beautiful train (as well as designer luggage set), and Disk 2 has a well-made documentary, interview on music score, and Wes's process of movie making!

Three brothers come together after the death of their father on a “spiritual” journey in India. Every character is incredibly unique and their mindsets are explored throughout the movie. Additionally, their relationships are detailed and explored through symbolism and conversation.

Three estranged brothers reunite with the planning of the oldest brother Francis and journey across India to become closer and find their mother after the passing away of their father. Unique characters each with their own quirks, this starts out as a light-hearted Wes Anderson movie, a trio of brother traveling and talking about what troubles them. For example, Francis is recovering from a motorcycle accident, which we later learn was a suicide attempt, Peter is feeling conflicted about becoming a father and Jack is an aspiring writer who is trying to get over his girlfriend. The particular cinematography was great along with the movie's color scheme and 'The Kinks' inspired soundtrack, the film is really moving.

Terrible movie. Did not make sense. Was a total waste of time. The way it showed India was incredibly stupid! Actually an insult!

Excellent movie with lots of humor and lots of heart, but definitely not for everyone. If you enjoy Wes Anderson movies, you'll like this one. If you can't stand Wes Anderson movies, move along.

Loved this movie like I do most of Andersons movies. So tired of what passes for "humor" in most movies these days.
I hope Mr. Anderson keeps making movies for years to come.

Thought it´s a funny movie but no...about soul searching and dealing with past in very boring way. Very pointless movie.

I've been watching every Wes Anderson film and this is definitely one of his best. It mixes the strange scenery and characters with inspiring moments. There is an unspoken scene that took me completely by surprise and just blew me away. If you're not familiar with Wes Anderson, give this one a chance. It's got his funny moments, but it is also very profound.
