This narrative weaves the drama behind the scenes of Elizabeth I and her royal household and the dangerous times of the line of succession. The character of the seamstress allows us a peak into her perspective and travel the corridors and halls of the castle which are full of intrigue and plots. Historical fiction lovers will enjoy this tale regardless of how much or how little they may know in advance of the time period. A nice afternoon read with the right balance of politics, romance and respect for the intricate and dangerous Tudor lifestyle.
