Michael Punke has a digressive style that gives context to the characters and events in play. He can go on a tangent that seems to flow backward but he is really explaining why things got the way they did. I hope he writes more early American history.

We need more people like George Bird Grinnell today; he was a man of conscience & vision, who fought against the robber-baron culture that drove early American industry and progress, to save the nearly decimated north American Bison. Reads like a historical and political thriller/adventure story. Inspiring
