Thank goodness this was on cable because I would have hated to have wasted one of my rentals on this. I could tell from the title that it was going to be bad but I gave it a shot. Wow, it was worse than I expected, but my curiosity got the better of me and so I watched till the end. First of all, I like Diane Keaton but she was not good in this movie at all. I hated her as the overprotective mother and that whole thing just seemed really far fetched. I did like Tom Everett Scott who I've liked since I first saw him in "That Thing You Do" but I also liked the guy who played John, who was one of Mandy Moore's love interests. This movie is really about a mother who pushes her daughter into having a relationship by placing a dating ad online. Most of the acting here is terrible with the exception of Tom Everett Scott. Mandy Moore is whiny and self-centered as is Diane Keaton. There are no touching moments in this movie at all, although there is one moment that was kind of funny, even though I saw it coming from a mile away. I wanted to turn it off mid-movie but I was curious enough to see what happened at the end. Trust me the last scene in the movie not only doesn't make sense storyline wise (although I suppose in a way it does), but the very last scene is utterly ridiculous, which now that I think about it is fitting.

This romantic/drama is about a mother who takes control of her youngest daughter’s dating life after she continues to pick one bad partner after another. For some people, this is their worst nightmare as most dread of the thought of their parents getting involved in their love life. In a way, this was the main appeal of the film since it was something that connected the audience to the characters. Beyond that, I didn’t really see any point to making the movie. It wasn’t terrible, it wasn’t great, it was sort of just there. I would rate this movie a confused 2.5/5 stars.

I enjoyed this movie, yes it's predictable, but what RomCom's aren't.

A very good movie. About a mother who wants the best for her daughter, which includes finding the perfect guy for her. The mother finds one suitable guy, but the daughter finds another. A happy ending after all of the interesting an funny things happen.

Mothers will do almost anything for their children & this movie shows to what extent one mother went to make sure her daughter finds Mr Right & as a mother myself i am sure i would do the same. what a wonderful movie diane keaton is such a wonderful actress & mandy moore looks so mature playing a more serious role. i like this this movie

I was surprised how much I enjoyed this movie. Very enjoyable in a light-hearted and predictable sort of way

Don't go out of your to see this, it is very dull and disappointing. Might be good for a date night, but other than that don't bother with it.

bleh- turned it off after 5 minutes, just couldn't stand it, so formulaic and boring.

Maybe Diane Keaton fans can find something to like about her character. I'm not a good source as I didn't choose the movie and never cared for her performances. Some of the other characters are fun, or at least more tolerable.

Lame, girlie rom com in which a single mother & her grown daughters discuss their pedestrian sex lives in way too much detail. I only gave it 2 stars because of Diane Keaton's stylish retro wardrobe. If you watch the film, be sure to turn off the volume.
