Great book combining historical events with a mythical world. Somewhat dark, but a hopeful theme won out. I'd re-read it for sure.

A good story with complex characters that have both light and dark sides. The story is captivating with a good balance of myth and original creation. I look forward to more from this author.

it was okay... but it got kind of boring around the middle of the book.

I was intrigued by the cover of this book and by the idea in general; however, Carey did nothing to interest me in the plot at all. The book was almost entirely devoid of action and the romance was a joke. I found the writing boring. On the other hand, there is something to be said for values. The redemption of the dragon and the reconciliation between the 2 different beings (humans and dragons) definitely added to the book immensely. In a world of questionable morals, Carey has written a clean book with a good message. I cannot entirely write it off.
