It seems I am addicted to Jennifer McMahon. This is the third book I have read (one I forgot to post on my shelves) of Ms. McMahon's. Her books are always about little girls to whom bad things happen. I don't especially like the gist of the book, but they are a good read. You try to figure out who the villain is and you never get it right. In this book, a grown woman comes back to the place where she grew up to put her mother, who has Alzheimer's, in a nursing home. A young girl is murdered which brings back the murder of her childhood friend. A good read, you can hardly put the book down.

I agree that the ending is a bit predictable. In that sense, this is very much a first novel. Still, I enjoyed the premise and the character development very much. This is a quick, spooky read.

Nice read, but the end is quite predictable and lame.
