Four adopted brothers come back home to avenge their mother's death at what appeared to be a random killing in a grocery store robbery. (Storyline is similar to John Wayne's "Sons of Katie Elder" but not quite the same and in a different setting.)

I really liked parts of the movie like the "unionizing" bit, but I couldn't stand the casual bigotry and sexism--if not for that I would have rated it much higher.

An okay read if you're hard up.

"I am under an impression that I see what others don't in movies, which is true". I watchd this after I saw Get Rich or Die Tryin' the move, and [it] leavened to appreciate Four Brothers, more.

Wasn't too sure about this movie when I first saw it but the diverse foursome of brothers (Wahlberg, Benjamin, Hedlund & Gibson) kept me watching. Both the characters & the story are very hard to walk away from. Just wish we had gotten to know a little bit more about the four bros childhoods prior to being adopted by Mercer.

Fair warning to all who fall in love with Jackie (Hedlund): you will cry.

Agreeing with Johnny's previous review, great soundtrack, and it reminded me of "the Sons of Katie Elder" also. The soundtrack is worth watching it.

It bothers me that none of the "creative talent" involved are either aware of or acknowledge the fact that this is a rip-off/homage to the John Wayne classic western "The Sons of Katie Elder". At least they didn't on any of the vastly unwatchable, self-congratulatory "extras" included. The Movie was enjoyable if predictable (I've seen it before but with horses), a rollicking, lightheart-oh, I'm thinking of something else. A bleak, stark, urban shoot 'em up, situated in bleak, stark, urban Detroit but shot in bleak, stark, urban Toronto; where else but in this go-to locale for gritty, stark US urban violence, deceit and revenge? It kept my interest though they could have pared the hockey game and I wouldn't have minded. "Four Brothers" is good mindless fun which boasts a great soundtrack: lots of Marvin Gaye, The Temptations and The Undisputed Truth's "Smiling Faces" at an obvious but suitable scene... "Beware of the handshake which hides the snake..."

This movie was entertaining and interesting but not one of my favorite for this year. “Not too bad---good performance”.
