The cartoon was rather boring. Plot and characters are not authentic. Why Zipporah brought into the scene in the beginning, Moses ran away out of desperation from knowing his true identity and anger toward his “loving” father (the Pharaoh is supposed to be his grandfather who tried to kill him after he found out what Moses hid), two ignorant princes having fun by racing on their horses destroying pyramid and running over the workers.....very strange!! It’s just a cartoon meant for entertaining.

What an amazing score! It is no surprise that this movie was as popular as it was - even outside the Religious community. The plot is biblical, but the characters are relatable regardless of what you practice. But at the end of the day - it's the songs that make this into an amazing movie. It was recently picked up to be adapted into a Broadway musical and I am looking forward to it with glee.

You don't have to be a devout Christian to enjoy this movie any more than you have to be Greek to enjoy Hercules, or Norse to enjoy Thor. Excellent animation and amazing music, and an overall epic movie that I would recommend to anyone.

A grand story -- far more ambitious than the usual children's animated fare, buoyed by a great screenplay and performances and superb art direction and music. Doesn't shrink from presenting the cruel violence at the heart of the tale, so use discretion with younger viewers.

I think that this is a movie that all parents should watch with their kids.

Moses: Is this where you found me?
Queen: Moses, please try to understand.
Moses: So everything I thought, everything I am, is a lie.
Queen: No! You are our son and we love you.
Moses: Why did you choose me?
Queen: We didn't, Moses. The gods did.

Rameses: [They are both late for the banquet] I'm done for, Father will kill me!
Moses: Don't worry, nobody will even notice us coming in.
[they enter, the crowd cheers loudly]
Rameses: [sarcastic] Nobody will even notice.

Frightening or Intense Scenes: The scenes depicting the plagues of Egypt may be frightening for younger children, although it is all animated.
