My family loves Gary Paulsen . I found this book special in a different way - so much women's wisdom shared by a man. I am grateful for this beautiful book and look forward to the other two inspired by his grandmother Alida.

This is one of Gary Paulsen's grandmother trilogies. It is set during WWII when most men are off fighting forcing the women to create lasting bonds.
