This book made no sense at all. The first half was gawd awful. Then there is an episode (the best in the book) where we have graphic carnage. After that it peters into slow nothingness. And all this inside 180 pages. Can you imagine the book being any longer?

Normally, I cannot stand books with any type of gore in them [and movies likewise] but this was a really offbeat, cleverly written piece and I am a fan of Japanese crime fiction. [And FYI to commenter, advega718, that third chapter is SOP for serial killers, just look into Ted Bundy, and the others' pattern.]

Disappointing. Very dull and anticlimactic for such a uniquely warped premise. The conflict didn't seem to go anywhere and the twist in the third chapter was so over the top it failed. Then it just fell flat again all the way to an ending left unresolved in the lamest way possible.

Really enjoyed this book, though it's pretty graphic and not for the weak of stomach...
