We often think of slavery as something from the past that, thankfully, is now behind us. However, millions of people are enslaved today. Frances Bok, who spent ten years of his childhood as a slave in Sudan in the late 20th century, is a rare escapee, able to tell his table. This story of a man who overcame overwhelming obstacles through inner strength, and, he would add, the help of God, Escape from Slavery is worth reading (despite poor editing) by anyone interested in what really happens in the world today.
