I love Laurie King's books. I devour them. But reading from computers gives me a headache. Would so love to read all of Laurie King's books but the OPL has not purchased a few of them, rather we are expected to use digital texts. I feel left out of the story plots I have enjoyed so much.
Please buy the remaining books by this marvelous author, for those of us who suffer from medical issues that mean a book is something made of paper.

My first Laurie R. King book - checked out while waiting for The Beekeeper's Apprentice. I always avoided crime-mystery-suspense-type novels but this was intriguing. I now cannot wait to visit the San Juan Islands. Many threads of the imperfect, fallible, damaged souls we have come to know in our lives - including in our own families - were woven throughout the story. Life, like construction (among other things), is a process. Well done! I'm a fan!

When reading "Folly," I had no idea how the book would end. I liked the surprises. Learning how a building is built was informative.

Woman isolates herself on an island off the coast of Washington to rebuild her great uncle's house and try to recover from depression. Are there really people watching her and wanting to do her harm? Or are these 'watchers' figments of her imagination? Excellent thriller with a surprise ending!

I've read Folly several times; it's breathtaking. Loved the main character, and her adventure. I don't want to risk giving away anything, so I can just say, READ IT!

A protagonist with a somewhat disturbing past drives this book about rebuilding the home of an ancestor on one of the San Juan islands. Truly enjoyable and rich.

"... she had long ago come to the conclusion that sometimes, things actually did go away - or rather, a person could cover enough ground to leave the problem behind, and when it did catch up again it was apt to be weakened by the journey."
(P. 217, Folly, Laurie R. King)
