I am usually a Ruth Rendell fan, but this book just could not hold my attention. The story is good--Ruth may not have ever been to a rock concert, but she defends the right of young people to enjoy them. To be fair, perhaps that really is what a rock concert was like in England. I just kept setting the book down and wandering off because I got bored. That is surprising as I had liked the Inspector in the other stories. NOT a bad book, just not riveting.
