2013. A cute Rom-Com. Good cast.

Based on a 2009 book by Jean Hanff Korelitz , Princeton admissions officer Portia Nathan goes through a midlife crisis of sorts after her long time boyfriend leaves her and she is presented with the opportunity to potentially meet someone…

Cute little film.

Hmmm... Sort of felt like a sitcom that was stretched into a movie. The cast and acting was fine. But there were opportunities for more depth in the script that weren't taken.

RomCom fan here #Spoiler Alter: this one meets the qualifications--meet cute-->courting phase-->minor catastrophe that is exacerbated by emotions-->separate from each other-->reconnect. Portia (Tina Fey) and John (Paul Rudd) are clearly…

This romantic drama stars Tina Fey, Paul Rudd, Nat Wolff, and Michael Sheen through the ups and downs of love. Portia Nathan is an Princeton admissions officer who visits an alternative high school when she meets who could possibly be the…

We were looking for a "good enough" light hearted movie for a week night. This certainly filled that role. Fun to see Lily Tomlin as Tina Fey's mom. Cute moments between Paul Rudd and Tina Fey.

Had low expectations and they were met, not exceeded (sometimes these types of movies do that!). Good cast and some funny lines (especially Martin Sheen) but too much placed on romance and stupid plot. Had potential but never filled it.

Likeable actors: Fey, Rudd, Tomlin but the story is not very good. It's probably bc the lead character isn't very likeable and is presented as so robotic that it's hard to really feel invested in her story.

Decent enough, albeit with subtle humour well-delivered by comedy pros-Fey & Rudd. Everything else aside from a couple of specific lines from Michael Sheen was as one might expect. Not annoying, but not memorable either. Would love to see…

Run-of-the-mill romantic comedy finds Tina Fey looking mostly bored.

Decent romantic dramedy, but not nearly as good or as memorable as you would expect from a cast including Tina Fey, Paul Rudd, and Lily Tomlin.

I was expecting a funny movie. This definitely was not a funny movie. marketed as a comedy, the only funny character was Lily Tomlin's. What a let down for me, but if you want something to help you sleep, this is the movie for you!

Charming, entertaining movie. Amusing moments from Tina Fey & Paul Rudd. Something like a Rocky type movie, but not as dramatic and more of a "feel good". Nicely done. Great supporting cast, which includies Wallace Shawn & Lily Tomlin.

There's a bit of redemption and sweetness to the story, but nothing major.

I'm a Paul Rudd fan and a Tina Fey fan - I don't think either was used to full effect in this movie, but then, it was restrained/understated for the most part. Lily Tomlin played a character that was over the top, but even she kept it…

Not even Tina Fey could save this movie. You could smell the political correctness in the dialogue. When you try to mesh quirky humor, some romance and social commentary on college admissions and birth parents of adopted children you…

There were three or four stories in there: Admission process at Princeton, eccentric families, a love story, adopted children and their biological parents; mho is too busy to have done any of them well.

I enjoyed the film. It wasn't the expected comedy given that Tina Fey, Paul Rudd and Lily Tomlin were in it. But it was entertaining.

Tina Fey is hilarious as a tightly wound Princteon admissions officer, romanced (perhaps for ulterior motives?) by Paul Rudd, dean of a crunchy granola alternative school. Funniest scenes are those of desperate high schoolers and parents…
