Excellent historical fiction. My heart just went out to her all the way through the book. She was so young when she got married she was really overwhelmed by his strong personality(and OCD controlling personality and emotional and verbal…

I enjoyed this book. I never thought much about Charles Lindbergh beyond the History page. He was a very stoic and arrogant person, based on this novel. His wife, Anne, and his 5 children didn’t really experience a lot of love and…

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Contrary to some other’s opinions, I didn’t find it boring at all, but more of a page-turner. Led me to research more about the LIndbergs. I will definitely be reading more books by this author.

October 2020 I wasn't sure if I liked this book, until I got quite aways into it. I thought the author may have been putting her modern ideas into Anne's mind. She may have some. Wish I knew how true to the character it is. But the last…

A fascinating story of a famous woman's life. The author appears to have done extensive research on which to base the story. How extraordinary to have lived as Anne Morrow Lindgergh lived, with such a challenging husband.

I listened to the audio version of this book. This isn't the type of book I usually read, but I enjoyed it...once it got going. I was 3 hours into the 16 hour narration and bored to tears. If I hadn't been reading it for book club, I…

This novel shows that sometimes the life that you have chosen has more heartbreak than love and happiness. Check out my review of "The Aviator's Wife" on my blog…

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I have been a fan of Anne Morrow Lindbergh since first reading her own book, "A Gift From the Sea" ---- so it was fascinating to find out more about her life and marriage to the famous Charles Lindbergh. …

An historical fiction novel set in a more modern era, this was not a book I expected to like as much as I did. How fascinating to learn the intricacies of such an extraordinary couple struggling with sometimes very ordinary constraints of…

I really enjoyed this book. I didn't know much about the story before I started reading it but I learned a lot and it has made me curious to read about the actual history of the Lindburgh's! I definitely recommend this!

Melanie Benjamin's book starts off slowly with how the Lindberghs met until his death in 1974. The author said she blended facts and some fiction to write this story. Loved learning more about Anne Morrow Lindbergh and her role as a…

I have read ALL of Anne Morrow's published books, as well as those of her daughter, Reeve Morrow, which brought insight as to her parents' relationship. I also read "Anne Morrow Lindberg, Her Life", by Susan Hertog. I would highly…

I enjoyed the book and found the writing competent. It was not easy for a woman from that era to stand out for herself. I learned about the Lindberghs. Benjamin states in a note at the end that the fictional part is all in the emotions…

read this for book club. can't recommend it. writing not great and the fake ending puts an unfair spin on Anne's life. the positive is that it has sent me to investigate who AML really was through some of her own writing and that of her…

The Aviator's Wife was difficult to get through. Don't get me wrong- it's well-written, although sometimes the leaps in time and mental meanderings confused me. It's filled with emotion, and you get a good grasp of Anne Morrow Lindbergh's…

patron review Poorly written but with redeeming "data" on Lindbergh's views of life. Cannot recommend

Although 'fiction' very interesting, made me curious enough to look up Anne Morrow Lindbergh.

This was well written and a fascinating look a the Lindberghs. I was so frustrated with Charles and Anne though, kinda hard to read at times. But I would definitely recommend it!

This seemed like historical fiction "lite" at the beginning and I almost quit, but it got better as it went along. I plan to read some of Lindbergh's work next out of curiosity. I bet she will turn out to be a better writer.

A historic/autobiographical/fictional/ feminist perspective on the Charles Linbergh story and that era.It really was an exciting era of change ( as my father always said!) Women really came into their own in that era and the author gave…

Sorry, couldn't get into this book. After the second chapter I had to give up. I found the author to be tiresome with her over use of bubbly adjectives and short choppy sentences. She certainly is no Laura Hildebrand. I will wait for the…
