For anyone who's not at all familiar with the "Calvin and Hobbes" cartoon - Here's a brief outline of what one can expect to see in this volume.... This cartoon follows the often-humorous adventures (both real and fantasized) of Calvin, a precocious, mischievous and very outspoken 6-year-old rugrat, and his sardonic, stuffed tiger, Hobbes.

Together these 2 rascals (especially Calvin) get themselves into all sorts of comical predicaments that cover such broad issues as public education, philosophical quandaries, environmentalism, and flaws of opinion polls (to name but a few).

At the height of its popularity - "Calvin and Hobbes" was featured in over 2400 newspapers, worldwide.

Calvin is friends with a stuffed tiger named Hobbes. They are very funny characters who create a lot of trouble. For most of the time, Calvin is the one creates the trouble and Hobbes is the one who is wise and tries to get him out of it. Calvin is a naughty child who does not do well in school where as Hobbes is just an imaginary character who is brought upon into the story as a real animal. Calvin’s parents try their best to avoid looking over him because he can be quite annoying at some points. They usually hire a babysitter named Rosaline who hates Calvin and charges Calvin’s parent’s extra money just for babysitting an uncivilized boy.

Calvin and Hobbes is always a good way to go, no matter what. It is probably one of the funniest comic books out there, but it also has a philosophic side.
