Tacoma Reads: Community Weaving Project

12:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Moore Branch

Description

Tacoma Reads is a literary program series presented in partnership by the
City of Tacoma’s Mayor’s Office and Tacoma Public Library.

This year our Tacoma Reads titles encourage us to discuss the themes of kindness, compassion and community. Together with help from our community partner, Remakery, we are bringing these themes to life with an interactive community weaving project. Visit the Moore branch of the Tacoma Public Library to contribute to our Peg Loom weaving project. Weaving materials will be provided and all library patrons are welcome to explore these materials and add their favorite pieces to the loom. Over the course of the Tacoma Reads season, participants will see their contributions grow into a larger woven piece where the individual style and flare of each participant shines while also forming a strong bond with the pieces around it, showcasing how strong our vibrant and diverse Tacoma community can be.

The peg loom will be available September 2 - October 16 during open hours.
