Creative Reuse Workshops: Darning

1:00 PM – 2:30 PM
Mottet Branch

Description

Darning is a traditional yet awesome mending technique that is used to repair holes and keep your socks longer. Unlike a patch, darning aims to fill a hole with lost material, not simply cover it up.

Bring your socks, hats, sweaters or other knitwear that needs repair. We can cover traditional, honeycomb and scotch darning.

This free event is perfect for anyone who can confidently use a sewing needle. All materials and tools are provided. Materials are 100% post-consumer meaning we use only reclaimed, thrifted or donated materials.

Presented by Remakery Tacoma, funded by the City of Tacoma/Tacoma Creates, and hosted by Tacoma Public Library.
