Join us for an afternoon of nature and learning, with our friends from Habor WildWatch at Jack Hyde Park!
Harbor Wild Watch is a local organization that is dedicated to teaching the community how to be good stewards of the Salish Sea! During this special event, they will be giving us a "behind the scenes" tour of Jack Hyde Park at low tide, offering us a glimpse into the ocean ecosystem of which we are part while learning good beach etiquette.
Getting to the Beach: Parking is available across the street near the train tracks, or under the overpass at Chinese Reconciliation Park. We will meet near the sundial statue at the scheduled start time.
Terrain: There are paved paths that lead to the beach. The entrance to the beach is a sandy uneven trail. This is a low sloping beach that includes areas with sand, gravel, cobble, occasional boulders, and pilings.
Attire: This program runs in all weather, so please dress appropriately. We recommend closed-toe shoes for safety, rain boots, water shoes, or an old pair of sneakers you don’t mind getting a little wet and muddy.
