Jan Brett's "Alice in a Winter Wonderland" Tour

10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Dr. Dolores Silas High School

Description

Join Tacoma Public Library, Tacoma Online Elementary, and King's Books as we welcome Jan Brett to Tacoma! Jan Brett will be touring to support her new book Alice in a Winter Wonderland, a striking rendition of Alice in Wonderland transported to a shimmering Alaskan tundra with favorite characters coming to life as vibrant animals native to Alaska.

At the event, Brett will do a short drawing and presentation, followed by a signing. The event is FREE, but registration is required. To enter the signing line, attendees will have to have purchased a copy of Alice in a Winter Wonderland. There will also be signed bookplates available. The first 100 families in line will receive a free signed Jan Brett poster! You will also be able to take a photo with beloved character Hedgie.

Preorder your copy of Alice in a Winter Wonderland from King's Books and pick it up before or at the event!

You can also purchase Jan Brett's other titles from King's Books or check them out from your local Tacoma Public Library.

About the author:

Jan Brett lives in a seacoast town in Massachusetts, close to where she grew up. During the summer, her family moves to a home in the Berkshire Hills. She is a New York Times #1 bestselling author/illustrator, one of America’s most popular, with over 44 million books in print, and has brought to life lovable characters and imaginary backdrops for children for more than 40 years. Her illustrations are adored for their classic beauty and vibrant, life-like images of animals, landscapes, and flourishes from cultures around the world. While Jan is most known for her children’s books, she is also an award-winning breeder of ornamental fowl (fancy chickens!). Some of her best book ideas come from favorite activities including extensive travel and exploration of the natural world, marathon training, and listening to the Boston Symphony Orchestra, where her husband is a musician.
