Identities Horizons: Students' Journey at UWT with Tacoma Chinese Reconciliation Project Foundation

3:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Moore Branch

Description

Please join us in welcoming the Chinese Reconciliation Project for a screening of the short film Identities Horizons: Students' Journeys at UWT by University of Washington-Tacoma alumnus Nuk Suwanchote and Minh Le.

Filmmaker Nuk Suwanchote has revisited his alma mater to explore the growing community of Asia-Pacific Island students, staff and faculty on the Tacoma campus. They discuss the complexities of growing up bicultural in a diverse city like Tacoma and how a college campus can be a natural environment to explore identity.

The film is the latest in a series of films called “Our Communities, Our Neighbors” produced by the Chinese Reconciliation Project with support from Tacoma Creates and the Inatai Foundation.

There will be a screening of the film and time for a discussion afterwards.

This program is presented by Tacoma Chinese Reconciliation Project Foundation, funded by Tacoma Creates, and hosted by Tacoma Public Library.
