Create your very own podcast from concept to download. This monthly group gathers to share ideas, collaborate and network. It can be joined at any time and is open to podcasters and storytellers ages 12 and up. Led by Digital Media Lab instructor John Hargis, topics covered can include best practices for setting up your own recording space, developing compelling content from episode to episode, and a careful analysis of what makes some of today's podcasts so engaging and popular.
Through your active participation you will receive encouragement, support, and feedback - both from the instructor as well as your fellow students - as you refine, edit, and share your podcasts right from your own workstation. Tacoma Public Library offers checkout options for microphones, digital audio recorders and related audio production technology. Students must have their own computer along with broadband connection for ease of editing and sharing content via Zoom. You will receive advice on developing your very own podcast channel along with specific instructions for uploading and syndicating your program.
Podcasts produced in this series should contain family-friendly content (no excessive profanity), so that excerpts of your program can be shared and reviewed by students and instructors.
