Tacoma Reads: The Day You Begin Program Kit

12:00 PM – 7:30 PM
All Branches

Read the book, and then explore your own beginning through a craft. This Program Kit contains craft supplies for an “all about me” self portrait activity, based on the Tacoma Reads children’s title The Day You Begin by Jacqueline Woodson.

Tacoma Reads is a city-wide reading program that seeks to unite the community in dialogue around contemporary themes through reading a common text. A longstanding partnership between the City of Tacoma’s Mayor’s Office and the Tacoma Public Library, Tacoma Reads in 2021 is thrilled to have the support of the Tacoma Urban League as its premier sponsor.

Program kits are a fun way to bring our arts and crafts activities home with you. Visit any Tacoma Public Library branch starting Wednesay, October 6th to pick up a kit, while supplies last. There is no live program element to program kits-take one home today. Take one home and let it spark your creativity!
