Students 12 to 18 years of age are invited to be part of a community art project for permanent display at Moore Branch Library. Participants will research the historic trading trails used by local indigenous populations, work with renowned painting and mural artist, Rene Diaz, to create three large mural panels, create a program brochure, and have an opportunity to participate in a community celebration during the City of Tacoma's Art month in October. Project dates are scheduled for Saturday, August 11, 18, and 25, from 11 am to 4 pm at Moore Branch Library. Due to the collaborative nature of this project, participation is limited to 16 students. Students should commit to attending all sessions, and registration is required. To register, please visit the Library website at www.tacomalibrary.org or call your local branch library. This program is supported by a grant from the South End Neighborhood Council in partnership with Centro Latino and your Tacoma Public Library.
